  • Children from Alston Primary School sing Christmas carols at Heartlands Hospital and raise £166.76 for the hospital's Christmas Appeal!

    On Wednesday 5th December, children from Alston Primary School set off to Heartlands Hospital eager to help raise money for the hospitals Christmas Appeal.

     

    With lots of smiles and a heart felt performance, the children raised £166.76 and received a certificate of appreciation from Fundraising Officer Sabrina Hussaine.

     

    The money raised will go towards helping to provide Christmas hampers for staff and patients to enjoy on Christmas day and also toys for children who have to stay on the ward on Christmas day.

     

    Well done to all the children at Alston Primary School!

  • Alston Primary School become Music Mark Members!

    Alston Primary School were recently nominated, and supported financially by Services for Education. They recognised the value that the schools place on music and requested that they became a Music Mark School Member.  The Headteacher Mrs Nott received their membership certificate that was signed by the CEO of Music Mark Bridget Whyte.

     

    Music Mark works to enable members, and the wider music education sector, to deliver high-quality musical and social outcomes for all children and young people.

  • Wyndcliffe Primary School make Central News!

    The CEO, Deputy CEO and Directors of Leigh Trust send their congratulations to the headteacher of Wyndcliffe Primary School who earlier this week, were mentioned in the recent Ofsted annual report. They said it was great to see Wyndcliffe Primary School recognised in the report for the progress they have made. The report states that the headteacher and deputy headteacher at Wyndcliffe ‘have created a culture in which pupils thrive emotionally and academically’
